Vertical lathes from WALDRICH COBURG
Powerful turning for large workÂpieces
With our vertical turning machinÂing centers, you can count on maximum preÂciÂsion, effiÂcienÂcy, and flexÂiÂbilÂiÂty. WALDRICH COBURG offers soluÂtions for machinÂing workÂpieces of all sizes—from compact comÂpoÂnents to extremeÂly large and heavy comÂpoÂnents for power plant and turbine conÂstrucÂtion.
Our lathes are more than just lathes: they are turning and milling centers that enable complex machinÂing operÂaÂtions in a single setup. For you, this means higher proÂducÂtivÂiÂty, shorter lead times, and maximum preÂciÂsion.
Our vertical lathes at a glance
Vertical lathe ValuTurn
Compact and precise
The vertical turning machinÂing center is designed as a portal conÂstrucÂtion. The 2 columns and the crossÂbeam respecÂtive the traverse form a closed frame with the founÂdaÂtion, which provides high rigidity and accuracy.
The capaÂbilÂiÂty for complete machinÂing can be expanded with the optional movable rotary table (Y‑axis), enabling off-center machinÂing of complex workÂpieces.
A large number of difÂferÂent tool carriers and spindle units enable effiÂcient machinÂing of a wide variety of workÂpieces. The machinÂing units are swapped in accordÂing to the masÂterÂhead prinÂciÂple. DependÂing on the requireÂments, highly develÂoped exchange systems for machinÂing units and tools are availÂable.
- Power [kW] 75 / 100
- Turning diameter [mm] 2.000 — 4.500
- Turning height [mm] 1.000 — 3.500
- Power [kW] 100 / 150 / 200
- Turning diameter [mm] 3.000 — 6.000
- Turning height [mm] 1.000 — 5.000
The vertical lathe and machinÂing center MulÂtiÂTurn
Our MulÂtiÂTurn is of portal design and is used for the machinÂing of medium to large workÂpieces.
Thanks to the option of the movable rotary table in conÂjuncÂtion with an extremeÂly powerful drilling and milling device, the MulÂtiÂTurn enables extremeÂly complex machinÂing of workÂpieces.
For this purpose, a wide range of machinÂing units is availÂable, which can be changed accordÂing to the masÂterÂhead concept. DependÂing on the requireÂments, highly develÂoped exchange systems for machinÂing units and tools are availÂable.
Vertical lathe and machinÂing center PowÂerÂTurn
For the toughest chalÂlenges
The PowÂerÂTurn is the largest and most powerful vertical turning machinÂing center.
As standard in portal or double column design. As with the ValuTurn and MulÂtiÂTurn, all expanÂsion stages up to a movable rotary table are availÂable.
On the PowÂerÂTurn, you will machine your largest workÂpieces with the highest effiÂcienÂcy and accuracy.
- Power [kW] 100 / 150 / 200 / 300
- Turning diameter [mm] 5.000 — 14.000
- Turning height [mm] 3.000 — 12.000
FAQs about our vertical lathes
1. What vertical lathes does WALDRICH COBURG offer?
We offer three series of vertical turning machinÂing centers:
- ValuTurn – compact solution for medium-sized workÂpieces, ideal for combined turning and milling operÂaÂtions.
- MulÂtiÂTurn – flexible Maschine für große WerkÂstücke und komplexe GeomeÂtrien.
- PowÂerÂTurn – The largest and most powerful series for extremeÂly large and heavy comÂpoÂnents, e.g., in power plant conÂstrucÂtion.
All machines are designed as turning/milling machinÂing centers and enable machinÂing in a single setup—for maximum preÂciÂsion and effiÂcienÂcy.
3. What workÂpiece sizes can be machined?
ProÂcessÂing capacÂiÂties vary dependÂing on the series:
- ValuTurn: turning diameter 2.000–4.500 mm, turning height 1.000–3.500 mm.
